Consultation with an urologist - andrologist

The Urology and Andrology ward is located on the ground floor of the hospital office №12 (next to the Andrology laboratory).

The Urology and Andrology ward provides consultation and examination services, postoperative care and bandages, echography, and deals with the paper work related to the issuing of medical certificates, stating the expert opinion.

In the Andrology office are discussed the semen analysis results, as well as some possible options in order these results to be improved by the application of operative or conservative methods.

Physician: Dr. Dzhaudat Mackey, andrologist – urologist, is available to the patients at MHAT “Nadezhda”.

Office schedule: Consultations are carried out every day from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 13: 30 pm, a scheduled appointment is necessary.

How is the examination performed:

The diagnostic methods in maleinfertilityanalysis always begin by obtaining the medical history and status;

The additional procedures that are carried out include: observation, palpation, laboratory tests, spermogram, echography, CAT (computerized axial tomography), and other procedures.

In the surgical ward, part of which is the Andrology unit, are carried out all kinds of andrological procedures:

  • phimosis
  • paraphimosis
  • paraffinoma
  • frenulotomy
  • Orchifuniculectomiain tumors of the testicles


Before your first visit, if your complaints are related to some reproductive problems, you need to have undergone a general spermogram before the visit.

For this procedure you can make an appointment at MHAT “Nadezhda” –at the Registration Desk or by telephone.

The patient should practice sexual abstinence for 3 to 5 days before the procedure.

If you are scheduled for an operation:

On the day of the surgery the patient should be for admission at the hospital at 7:30 pm.

The patients should not have had anything to eat or drink, should have done in advance their toilet (hair removal in the groin area).

The following procedures are carried out in the hospital ward: blood tests, ECG, a consultation with an internist and an anesthesiologist.

The surgery is performed in the operating room with a local, intravenous, spinal or if necessary, a general intubation anesthetic.

The andrological surgery lasts about 30-45 minutes. Since it is a one-day surgery, the patients are usually discharged on the same day; the risk of complications is minimal.

The postoperative period goes smoothly, almost without any pain syndrome, the patient is not necessary to be on diet. The patient has to have one or two postoperative bandages applied, which are free of charge.

The andrological and urological operations in MHAT “Nadezhda” are paid (they are not subject to any clinical pathway).

They are paid at the cashier desk in accordance with the price list of the hospital.
